The Intercounty Major Baseball League is pleased to release the 2003 First and Second All-Star Teams, as well as the League's Most Valuable Player and Best Rookie. The awards were chosen by the field managers, and the all-star voting was decided on a five-three point system. Teams are not permitted to vote for their own players.

INTERCOUNTY LEAGUE HANDS OUT HARDWARE
The Inter-County Major Baseball League is pleased to announce the winners of the 2003 season.
Most Valuable Player
Toronto Maple Leafs pitcher Paul Spoljaric , who led the IBL with an 11-0 record and 120 strikeouts in 13 starts this season. The former Major League pitcher maintained a 1.61 earned run average in 84 innings.
Rookie of the Year
Harpreet Padda of the Kitchener Panthers was named IBL Rookie of the Year after leading the team with a .339 batting average in 31 games. Padda, a first team all-star outfielder, had 39 hits, including 10 doubles and three home runs and stole seven bases.
There were no unanimous selections this year (45 points). |
